- Dr. Martin Mathias – Technical Director
|
Martin plays a pivotal role in ensuring our product design quality remains first-class by guiding the product development process through from concept to production, covering design validation, materials and component specification, tooling requirements, rapid prototyping, production/assembly guidance and product testing.
Martin’s engineering career started with a traditional mechanical engineering apprenticeship as a mould and toolmaker before he returned to full time education to study for a BEng. in Engineering Design Visualisation and then a PhD in Bio Mechanics. His career experience includes time as Aerospace Design Engineer for Flight Refuelling Ltd. designing components for liquid systems using 3D parametric CAD, optimising parts to reduce weight and component count; and time as Technical Manager of the Prototyping and Virtual Manufacturing Centre at Bournemouth University ― a role that included consultancy for various blue-chip customers, extolling the virtues of new design methods made possible by emerging rapid prototyping and manufacturing techniques.
Martin marries a passion for engineering with first-class analytical, design and problem solving skills to ensure we maintain consistently high quality standards.
In his spare time Martin likes to be active: surfing, cycling, driving 4x4s, tending to his vegetable patch or doing a spot of DIY. |

- Russell Tanner BEng. – Design engineer
|
Russell takes responsibility for design and development of all of our new generation products. His experience was developed on the back of a full mechanical apprenticeship followed by a HNC in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently a BEng. (Hons) in Engineering. With his exceptional understanding and passion for all things mechanical, Russell adds an exciting edge to our development capabilities. In his spare time he can be found playing golf, skiing or even scuba diving. |

- Martin Goodship HNC – Development engineer
|
Martin is responsible for our standard ranges of AC, AC/DC series and DC permanent magnet motors, covering design modifications and technical support whenever required. As a trained CNC programmer with an HNC in Electrical Engineering and over 25 years of service at Parvalux, Martin provides the business with much needed product expertise and continuity. Outside the office Martin likes to spend time with his family and leads an active lifestyle taking part in physical activities like football, running, and swimming. |

- Michal Lekszycki MEng. – Mechanical design engineer
|
Mike’s focus is the design and development of new motors and gearboxes that respond to the evolving needs of our customer base. He graduated with an MEng Mechanical Engineering after studying Automation and Robotics at the Warsaw University of Technology, and joins us directly from PML Flightlink where he worked as quality engineer and mechanical designer on various DC brushless applications (e.g. powered suitcases), generators and flat armature “pancake” motors. Mike most enjoys seeing his work go through all the phases of development, from early concept models, prototyping and testing to finally reaching production. Outside office hours he enjoys watching Formula 1, football and tennis, and spends much of his free time doing DIY on his new home. |

- Paul Mitson TMIET – Test Engineer
|
Paul’s main responsibility is to life and performance test our entire range of standard, modified and bespoke products, but with 14 years of experience supporting our production and sales teams, he also brings invaluable product knowledge to the team. Having served an electrical apprenticeship and qualified as an electrician, Paul is now studying towards an Open University degree. A technician member of the IET, Paul is also working towards professional registration with the UK Engineering Council. Outside work, he likes to spend time with his family, watch motor racing or on clear nights ― do a bit of astronomy. |

- Dean Palmer BSc. – CAD engineer
|
With a BSc (Hons) in Engineering CAD, Dean has a profound understanding of contemporary computer aided design technology. Working closely with Russell Tanner he is helping us to accelerate the development of our next generation of products. Outside of Parvalux Dean has a great love of things fast and on four wheels. |

- Martin Snook C.Eng – Principal Design Engineer
|
Martin works closely with our customers to invent, design and realise motor-gearbox and subsystem solutions for their specified applications. Martin’s engineering career spans 25 years across a range of industries, moving from designing satellite space systems and equipment for the print industry to various contracts in the automotive industry. As a named inventor on numerous international patents and with qualifications that include an MBA and an MSc in Engineering Design from Cranfield, Martin is particularly interested in product innovation and in the strategic elements of business. He enjoys a busy family life with his wife and two children. Activities he gets involved in outside of work currently include designing and building his own home extension. |

- Garry Marsh BEng. – Design Engineer
|
Garry is tasked with designing new products, components and parts according to customer or internal development specifications. Since graduating in 2004 with a BEng. in Mechanical Design Engineering, Garry has picked up a broad range of industry experience including time developing products for aerospace, precision engineering and heavy industrial applications, often using Solidworks 3D CAD to realise his designs. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking, running, socialising and deciding which car to buy next! |

- Nick Gioia BSc. – CAD Engineer
|
Nick supports the product development team by applying his technical drawing and CAD skills to product design change requests and improving our technical literature. A recent graduate from Bournemouth University, with a BSc. in Computer Aided Product Design, he is experienced with many contemporary design software packages, including UGS NX, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks and I-Deas. Outside work Nick likes to keep fit, play football or visit design exhibitions. |

- Stephen Thornton BSc. – CAD engineer
|
Recently graduated from Bournemouth University with a BSc (Hons) in Engineering CAD, Stephen brings a unique skill-set to the business, routinely providing 3D motion graphics, drawings and visualisations, bill of materials control and MRP support to the team. A highly adaptable team player, Stephen prides himself in understanding as many different CAD and design technology related software packages as possible.
Although a great wii enthusiast and budding chocolatier Stephen also likes to keep fit and captain’s a local football team in his spare time. |
