With over 6,500 golf courses accounting for some 50,000 kilometres of fairway across Europe, there is an understandable demand for powered golfing vehicles from pros and amateurs alike. Caddies loaded with full sets of clubs can weigh anything up to 30kg, so golfers who carry their bags around courses of 8km in length can put their back and shoulders under a lot of strain, making electrical course transportation the obvious choice to avoid injury and conserve energy.
We are specialist suppliers to several major international designers of powered golf buggies, caddies and carts with bespoke and customised DC permanent magnet power transmission units. Our high-torque, high-efficiency GB12 gearbox was designed specifically for golf automation applications and is now supplied in volume across a number of other applications with similar control, speed and torque requirements.
We recently developed a wholly plastic gearbox, the GB11, to enable greater portability of a powered caddy unit into and out of vehicles and storage facilities, and envisage developing further product enhancements in the future to continue to satisfy the evolving needs of this market.
