Current opportunities

Mechanical Design Engineer

Privately owned with a significant equity backing, Parvalux manufactures a broad range of small geared motors and has recently expanded with an acquisition of another leading UK manufacturer within the same industry. The company enjoys a premium brand value in the UK and believes there is significant opportunity to increase brand value globally.

Role

This role will be principally based from our Headquarters in Bournemouth. Reporting to the Technical Director… the Design Engineer will be responsible for: -

  1. Work on new projects from a given specification and/or product improvements.
  2. To generate GA and detail drawings and BOMs ensuring they are to agreed
    standards and within specification.
  3. Generate comprehensive component specifications.
  4. To effectively project manage new tools for components.
  5. To undertake and record calculations on studies to validate the design.
  6. Issue clear and comprehensive instructions for quality and production.
  7. To work with Development Technicians in producing and developing prototypes.
  8. Work with Test Technicians in developing tests and test rigs, ensuring effective
    records are instigated and maintained.
  9. To collaborate fully with Production Engineering on new product launch.
  10. To analyse and effectively record returns, rejects, applications and incorporate this into new designs.

Candidate

With potential to undertake the whole life of an engineering project, from initial concept or specification through to production, this role promises variety, interest and reward. You will conduct concept, detail, assembly and production designs, design calculations and analysis, work with colleagues and customers to overcome technical challenges and develop practical and innovative mechanical designs, using SolidWorks 3D CAD for the engineering of equipment, systems and components. Ideally you will have experience of pressure die castings, injection moulding, gear design and assembly techniques with 3D CAD, designing drive systems and robust mechanisms. A practical and dynamic approach must be supported by a broad engineering knowledge and expertise.
